Amy Ramirez
I am a proud first generation Vietnamese-American, born in Boston and raised in Quincy. I have been drawing ever since I learned how to pick up a pencil around the age of three! Drawing and painting has always been a creative outlet for me to express myself. Life experiences and my cultural heritage are huge inspirations for my artwork. Merging modern abstract and Southeast Asian styles best represents who I am.
I started taking my passion for art more seriously after getting my first tattoo at Empire in 2018. I attended UMASS Boston where I studied Exercise Health Science with a minor in Art History. During that time, I began pursuing tattooing and practiced drawing everyday. After graduating college in 2023, I became full time apprentice at Empire Tattoo under Damon Butler’s mentorship. I practiced fundamental tattoo styles including American Traditional, fine line, black and grey, and color. I became officially licensed in February 2025. My primary focus is perfecting fine line, black and grey and color realism in order to create the best customized works of art.
