Gunnar has been a professional tattoo artist since 1997. He became a highly reputable and sought after artist in the world of tattooing because of his unique blend of horror meets children’s book imagery, creating his token style that was often referred to as “cute and creepy”. Throughout his career he has expanded into the medium acrylic and oil painting, showing in galleries around the world and becoming recognized as a fine artist. Gunnar has also been a major contributor to the continuing education of tattoo artists and tattoo collectors through educational seminars, blogs and publications. Over the years his artistic style has evolved and expanded, but he is most comfortable creating highly original bold, large-scale color imagery in an illustrative near cartoon style meets classical art. However, he will happily take other projects he feels comfortable with. Consultations are highly recommended and appointments are preferred to discuss ideas and allow for drawing time.
